The point of sectioning of a pole PSS (recloser) is a stand-alone outdoor switching device equipped with a vacuum circuit breaker. Designed to disconnect and re-enable the circuit. The main task of the recloser is to open the line when its parameters deviate from the specified ones.
In most cases, power grids are short-lived, and the current parameters are restored within a few seconds. These failures are often caused by natural conditions.
When the line parameters go beyond the specified range, the recloser breaks the circuit. After a certain period of time, an automatic restart occurs. If the malfunction persists, the procedure is repeated (up to three times, depending on the device settings.) In this case, the line is disconnected, and a signal is sent to the control room from the recloser about the need for repair on the line.
